Eirini Schlosser, The Ohio State University
Co-President Eirini was born and raised in Akron, Ohio. She graduated from Walsh Jesuit High school in 2008. She currently is studying for her bachelor’s degree at the Ohio State University pursuing a major in Finance in Fisher College of Business. At Ohio State she is active in international business events and has taken part in Model UN conferences as well. She was awarded a member of the Dean’s Leadership Academy at Fisher College of Business which builds leadership skills through coursework, extracurricular events, and community service. She plans to attend law school after her undergraduate degree and to study jointly for a masters in finance. Eirini’s Greek family is from the islands of Kalymnos and Oinousses and her father’s roots are from Germany. She has participated in the Greece Study Abroad program at the Alexander the Great School of Language in Chania, Crete. She continues to travel to Greece whenever her free time permits her. Eirini is currently President of the Hellenic Association of Ohio State University and is very active in the Greek communities of both Akron and Columbus, Ohio. Among many other activities, she enjoys Greek dancing and helps coordinate the Akron Annunciation Church Dance Troup “Ta Ellinopoula”. She also loves basketball and has played for ten years, winning the Ohio high school state championship in 2004. Eirini has a great passion for NHSA and the strong community and support it provides students of Hellenic descent. She sees the continuity and strengthening of this association as a crucial component of working to build a successful Greek-America of tomorrow. |

Evangelos Sfakianakis, Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Co-President Evangelos was born in Athens, Greece in 1985. He went to High School in the German School of Athens graduating with honors in 2002. He studied in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Dept. of the National Technical University of Athens, graduating in 2007. While an undergrad, he was part of the Organization Committee of the first Panhellenic ECE Student Conference. Having held summer internships at DESY and CERN, he moved to MIT to pursue a PhD in Theoretical Physics, working at the interface of Cosmology, Particle Physics and Applied Math. He served as a Board member and as the President of the MIT HSA. After serving for a year as the first Programs Director of the NHSA board, he was elected co-president at the Spring 2011 convention. Unity and active engagement of all HSA’s in the NHSA framework are his top priorities. Furthermore, he is committed to guide the NHSA in undertaking actions to serve its members in the States, in the Greek and Greek American student communities, as well as help Greece in every possible way. |

Alex Orfanos, Cornell University
Vice President for External Affairs Alex was born in New York City and raised in the suburbs of northern New Jersey. He is a first-generation Greek-American, his father having immigrated to the United States in 1966 from the village of Gerakas outside of Monemvasia. He graduated from Northern Valley Demarest Regional High School in 2009, and is currently finishing his second year at Cornell University where he is majoring in Philosophy. In addition to his involvement with other student organizations, he is the President of the Hellenic Students Association at Cornell. After graduation, Alex is looking forward to attending medical school and becoming a physician. As an NHSA board member, he strives to maintain a strong connection between the NHSA and the Hellenic community at large.

Stephanie Cicatiello, Drexel University
Vice President for Internal Affairs Stephanie Cicatiello was born and raised in northern New Jersey by parents Catherine, of Greek descent from Crete, Greece and father, Salvatore from Naples, Italy. She grew up attending “Sunday School” at the parish of Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Wyckoff, NJ. Through her teens Stephanie was a member of G.O.Y.A and participated in the competition of “Sights & Sounds” where she was awarded for excellence in the areas of acting, singing, writing, oil painting and Greek Dance. Being a member of the award winning, TerpsiXorian Hellenic Dance Group of NJ, (previously known as the “Greek-American Folk Dancers”), Stephanie had the opportunity to travel and tour to perform and compete in Greek Dance. After her graduation from Montville Township High School, Stephanie received an academic scholarship from AHEPA for the Journey to Greece Program. In the summer of 2007 she lived as a student in Syntagma Square while taking courses in Greek mythology, language and theology through the University of Indianapolis Athens Campus. Stephanie is currently a senior at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA and is working towards a major in Entertainment & Arts Management and a minor in Film & Business. She has held the positions of Secretary, Marketing and Events Coordinator to Drexel’s Hellenic Student Association and has also been an instructor and performer in the associated Greek Dance Group, O.P.P.A. Stephanie is currently a proud & active member of The Hellenic American Chamber of Commerce(HACC) in New York City as well as the Greek American Chamber of Commerce(GACC) located in the Greater Philadelphia Region. Stephanie will graduate from Drexel University in the Spring of 2012 and looks forward to a career in the creative industries. |

Toula Leberis, Loyola University
Treasurer Toula Leberis was born in Chicago and is a first generation Greek American. Her parents are both from Tripoli, Arkadia, Greece. She is graduating magna cum laude with high praise from Loyola University Chicago in May 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in History, International Studies, Spanish and a minor in Political science. She also had the opportunity to intern for the Director of Education and Programs at the Hellenic Museum in Chicago. She enjoyed creating Hellenic historical and cultural programs for students visiting the museum. Toula will be attending Loyola University Chicago School of law in the fall of 2011 where she will pursue a JD degree in Business and Corporate Governance Law. She has been extremely active in the Hellenic community in Chicago and participated in various organizations. She was a member of the Orpheus dance Troupe, and enjoyed performing and learning traditional Greek dances. She also was a very active and dedicated member in the Loyola University Chicago Hellenic Student Association. Toula served as Public Relations chair, Vice President and President of the Loyola Hellenic Student Association. She also served as a representative for the Midwest Pan-Hellenic Youth Association for the past three years and worked to promote the collaboration of the Hellenic Student Associations of the Midwest to promote Hellenism in the community. This past year she also had the opportunity to facilitate the planning of the NHSA Convention Spring 2011 in Chicago. As the Treasurer of the NHSA she is excited to continue to promote Hellenism on the national level. |

Stavroula Chrysanthopoulou, Brown University
Academics Director Stavroula_Chrysanthopoulou@brown.edu Stavroula Chrysanthopoulou was born and raised in Athens, Greece. Her parents’ hometown and favorite holiday destination is Nafpaktos (Aitoloakarnania). She got her BSc in Statistics from the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) and her MSc in Biostatistics from the University of Athens (UOA). After working for three years as a statistics consultant in a private company in Greece, mainly involved in projects of the European Statistical Service (Eurostat), she came to the US with a full scholarship from Brown University in order to pursue a PhD in Biostatistics. Since spring 2009 she is the instructor of Greek Folk Dancing class, an activity open to all students, faculty and staff at Brown University. With this Greek Folk Dancing Group she has already organized and/or participated to several local performances. In 2009 she served as the Vice President of the local HSA and since Spring 2010, she holds the position of the Academics Director in the NHSA board. Motivated by her fondness for students and her willingness to help and mentor young people she is committed to the realization of the NHSA Milestone Students Exchange program. Moreover she envisages contributing to the promotion of the Greek Spirit, Culture and Civilization at Brown and other universities in the States. |

Jesus P. Kalergis, Boston University (alumnus)
Communications Director www.linkedin.com/in/jesuskal Jesus (Ιησούς) was born in Detroit, MI and was raised in Athens, Greece. He returned to the U.S. to attend Boston University where he completed his Bachelor’s in International Relations and Economics. His professional experience in international relations and cultural affairs focuses on transatlantic relations between U.S. and Greece. His has extensive internship work at the U.S Commercial Service at the U.S. Embassy in Athens, Greece aiding commercial diplomacy support for U.S. business interests. Currently, he is the Assistant Director of Admission- US Relations for DEREE- The American College of Greece where he builds partnerships with American Universities to promote Greece as a Study Abroad destination. Proud of his Hellenic heritage, he has undertaken various leadership and volunteer roles in the Greek American community in New England, including Organizing Committee Member for the 2nd annual Hellenic Intercollegiate Dance 2011, board positions as Secretary and later President of the BU Hellenic Association (BUHA) and volunteering for the Athens 2004 Olympic Games. He is proud to serve NHSA for a second term implementing and enriching the Communications Strategy of the organization. Given his strong passion for providing the Youth with more resources to showcase their talents and opinions, he will work to promote the pro-active NHSA Mission and Initiatives in print and online outlets as well as on social media platforms |

Alexia Rempoutzakou, Wheaton College
Recruitement Director Alexia was born and raised in Athens, Greece. At age seventeen and after graduating Psychico College, she received a scholarship from Wheaton College, a small private liberal arts college in Massachusetts. Today, Alexia is pursuing her double degree in Art History and French, a passion that stems from both growing up in the historical city of Athens, but also from being a part of Europe and the European Union. Alexia has worked in several fashion-related internships such as Anna Maria Mazaraki S.A, Athens Fashion Week and ‘BHMAdonna’ magazine in Greece. Yet, her two most dear experiences were painted with Greek colors: being a volunteer in the 2004 Olympic and Paralympics Games in Athens, and her role as a translator in an Archeology class with Wheaton College in Greece. In the trip, Alexia was in charge of translating/ mediating and accommodating for fourteen participants throughout the course of one month. Proud of our Hellenic heritage, she wishes to promote NHSA’s beliefs, ideas and goals to create a strong network nationwide, while also urging everyone to have fun while doing so.

Irene Koumi, Loyola University (alumnus)
Programs Director www.linkedin.com/pub/irene-koumi/27/a30/145 Born in Chicago, Irene Koumi is a first generation Greek American, with roots in the islands of Crete and Cyprus. She attended Loyola University Chicago where she completed her BBA with a concentration in Business Management and a Spanish minor in May 2010. She also had the opportunity to take classes at the University of Cyprus in Nicosia, Cyprus in a summer program. Currently, she is working at the Chicago Board of Trade and plans to enroll in an MBA program soon. Extremely proud of her heritage, she has taken the opportunity to work diligently with her university’s HSA and served as Secretary for a year and then as President for two consecutive years. She also enjoys playing her cello and participated as a cellist in the Chicago Classical Symphony Orchestra as well as the Loyola University Orchestra. For the last two years she has served as a Board of Director of the Midwest Pan-Hellenic Youth Association to foster the collaborative efforts of the Hellenic Youth of Chicago and the Midwest. This past year she also had the honor of helping plan the NHSA Convention in Spring 2011 in Chicago. Having attended the first reestablishing NHSA Convention, she is very pleased with how far the organization has come and is excited to be able to be a part of the board this year. As the Programs Director for the NHSA, she is eager to help further the progress of the NHSA through projects that cater to the NHSA member chapters. She is very happy to have the opportunity to continue promoting Hellenism through the NHSA. |
