Info Sessions Project
The NHSA in an effort to improve the information of students in Greece regarding studies in the United States, will hold Info Sessions at various Greek Universities with a special focus on application procedures (Statement of Purpose, CV, Standarized Tests) and funding opportunities (RA’s, TA’s and various forms of fellowships). Material to be presented can be found here
The first Info-sessions will be held in January 2011.
National Technical University of Athens (NTUA): 11/1/2011 13:00
University of Athens: 12/1/2011 13:00
University of Crete: 14/1/2011 14:00
University of Patras: TBD
ASOEE: TBD, approximately 17-21
The MIT HSA organized such an information session last December at the NTUA in collaboration with the Fulbright foundation, where over 100 students had the chance to listen to presentations describing both the typical procedures, as well as our personal views on studying and living abroad. The feedback was impressively positive and students who did not attend the event contacted Info‐sessions.
Following the above discussion, our proposal is for to establish an ongoing project of a series of Info‐sessions to be held at major universities in Greece once a year. The main idea will be that graduate students who are in Greece on holiday will present the application guidelines, along with their own experience and answer the audience’s questions. The fact that we need grad students visiting Greece on holiday leaves three time‐slots: before Christmas, after Christmas and summer.
