 | Yiorgos Nikoletakis, Columbia University President Yiorgos was born and raised in Iraklio, Crete and then moved to Athens with a Greek State Foundation Scholarship to study at the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB, formerly known as ASOEE) with a major in finance in the Department of Business Administration. In Athens, he became actively involved in student organizations within his university and in learning organizations outside school. Upon his graduation, with the financial assistance from the Fulbright Foundation and two additional scholarships, he came to the U.S. to study in the MBA Program of Fisher College of Business at the Ohio State University, with majors in Investment Management and Logistics & Operations Management and minor in Financial Services. At OSU he got actively involved in the OSU Hellenic Association where he served as President for two years. The NHSA is a greater challenge and his personal drive is the continuity of the common effort. | 
| Eleni Christofa, UC Berkeley Vice President for Internal Affairs Eleni was born in Mytilene, Lesvos. She moved to Athens after High School, where she studied Civil Engineering in the National Technical University of Athens (2002-2007) with a focus on transportation. In 2007, she started her graduate studies in Transportation Engineering at the University of California at Berkeley and got her Masters degree in May 2008. She has continued her studies in the PhD program. Her research interests are focused on traffic management and control systems as well as public transit. At U.C. Berkeley she has held various positions in the Hellenic Student Association and has also served as the President. Since March 2009 she serves as the Vice President of Internal Affairs for the National Hellenic Student Association. Her effort is focused on bringing together the Hellenic Student Associations of America with an emphasis on supporting the development of new and small Associations. |  | Gerasimos Houpis, Case Western Reserve University Vice President for External Affairs Gerasimos Houpis was born, raised, and educated in Greece until he moved to the USA where he finished High School in 2005. Just recently, he successfully completed his BS in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and he is now enrolled as a candidate for a MS degree in Systems and Control Engineering at Case Western Reserve University. His objectives are working hard to actively maintain and spread the Hellenic spirit and contributing in building a strong sense of community amongst all those persons of Greek background. In the past he has held various positions at the UofM HSA and has also been the President. This is his second year as a NHSA Board member. His Greek heritage lies in Vamvakou, a village outside of Sparta. After his graduation he is hoping to successfully start a career that will give him the opportunity of becoming yet another successful professional of Hellenic background. | 
| Eirini Schlosser, The Ohio State University Treasurer Eirini was born and raised in Akron, Ohio. She graduated from Walsh Jesuit High school in 2008. She currently is studying for her bachelor’s degree at the Ohio State University pursuing a double major in Political Science and Business Finance. Eirini’s Greek family is from the islands of Kalymnos and Oinousses and her father’s roots are from Germany. She loves to visit Greece for the summer and as often as possible. Eirini is currently President of the Hellenic Association of Ohio State University and is very active in the Greek communities of both Akron and Columbus, Ohio. Among many other activities, she enjoys Greek dancing and helps coordinate the Akron Annunciation Dance Troup “Ta Ellinopoula”. She also loves basketball and has played for ten years, winning the Ohio high school state championship in 2004. Eirini has a great passion for NHSA and the strong community and support it provides students of Hellenic descent. She sees the continuity and strengthening of this association as a crucial component of working to build a successful Greek-America of tomorrow. | 
| Evangelos Sfakianakis, Massachusetts Institute of Technology Programs Director Evagelos was born in Athens, Greece in 1985. He went to High School in the German School of Athens graduating with honors in 2002. He studied in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Dept. of the National Technical University of Athens, graduating in 2007. While an undergrad, he was part of the Organization Committee of the first Panhellenic ECE Student Conference. Having held summer internships at DESY and CERN, he moved to MIT to pursue a PhD in Theoretical Physics, working at the interface of Cosmology, Particle Physics and Applied Math. He served as a Board member of the MIT HSA in 2009 and as President since February 2010. At the 2010 NHSA conference he was elected Programs Director, where he will work towards diversifying the actions undertaken by the NHSA to strenghen the bonds among HSA’s and between students in the US and Greece. | 
| Jesus P. Kalergis,Boston University Communications Director Jesus (Ιησούς- Ihsous) was born in Detroit, MI and was raised in Athens, Greece. He returned to the U.S and attended Boston University where he completed his Bachelor’s in International Relations and Economics. With his professional experience in international affairs and business administration he has fostered U.S- Greek trade relations through extensive internship work at the U.S Commercial Service within the U.S Embassy in Athens, Greece. A proponent of the idea that the university is where it all begins he will work hard to strengthen the Hellenic and American ideals whilst raise awareness of the united pro-active movement of NHSA. His leadership and volunteer activities have included board positions as Secretary and later President of the BU Hellenic Association (BUHA) and volunteering for the Athens 2004 Olympic Games. From a young boy he has been inspired by the great heroes of Hellenic Mythology and the classical scripts. Proud of his Hellenic heritage he published an English translation of the original Ancient Greek Sappho Fr.58 in the inaugural issue of the BU journal Pusteblume. | 
| Stavroula Chrysanthopoulou, Brown University Academics Director Stavroula Chrysanthopoulou was born and raised in Athens, Greece. Her parents’ hometown and favorite holiday destination is Nafpaktos (Aitoloakarnania). She got her BSc in Statistics from the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) and her MSc in Biostatistics from the University of Athens (UOA). After working for three years as a statistics consultant in a private company in Greece, mainly involved in projects of the European Statistical Service (Eurostat), she came to the US with a full scholarship from Brown University in order to pursue a PhD in Biostatistics. Since spring 2009 she is the instructor of Greek Folk Dance, and since February 2010, she serves as the Vice President of the HSA at Brown University. She envisages contributing to the promotion of the Greek Spirit, Culture and Civilisation at Brown and other universities in the States. | 
| Laoura Maratou, University of Maryland Fundraising Director Laoura (Laura) Maratou grew up in Athens, Greece and is a 3rd year PhD student in Applied (Agricultural and Resource) Economics, University of Maryland, College Park (Washington, DC metro area), funded by Onassis Foundation. During 2009-2010 she is serving as the president of the Digenis Hellenic Graduate Students Association of the University in Maryland. Laura holds an MS in applied economics and management from Cornell University (2005) funded by Fulbright and Onassis Foundations and a BS/MS in agronomy science, agricultural economics and rural development from the Agricultural University of Athens, Greece (2002). Laura has participated in Erasmus and Leonardo da Vinci exchange programs in the EU and would like to extend these between the US and Greece. She has work experience on agricultural economics in Greece, UK, France, USA, Belgium, and Uganda with private companies, public research organizations and international organizations incl. the European Commission and the World Bank. She speaks fluently all three Greek, English, French and basic Spanish. In her free time Laura enjoys traveling, photography, outdoor activities, singing and dancing. | 
| Yiannis Floropoulos, Montclair State University Recruitement Director Ioannis "Yianni" K. Floropoulos is a native of the NY-NJ-CT Tri-state area. Born in Athens and raised between New Jersey and New York City Yianni has always held Hellenism and the Greek culture in high regards. His goal is to be active in the community for as long as he can. Yianni is a graduate of Montclair State University of New Jersey. He received degrees in philosophy and political science in 2009 and currently is attending a Masters Program in Law and Governance. He served as the President of his university's Hellenic Student Organization, and President and Founder of the Philosophy & Religion Club both at Montclair State University and at Fairleigh Dickinson University. When he is not establishing Student Government Association connections and dialogue with Greek club representatives Yianni is working tirelessly with A.H.E.P.A (American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association) and their junior auxiliary, The Order of The Sons of Pericles. After attending The Graduate School Yianni hopes to attend a PhD program or possibly a PhD/JD program. You may contact Yianni at .
