The National Innovation Conference 2010

The National Innovation Conference was founded and created by the Greek America Foundation, an organization dedicated to the promotion, perpetuation and preservation of Greek culture, thought and ideals in modern American society, while simultaneously making these concepts relevant in a contemporary setting.

NIC 2010 will gather global leaders, thinkers, and doers who share Greek heritage and make innovation an important part of what they do in their daily lives, at work and in their philanthropic and community endeavors.

Presenters will discuss various topics that are relevant to the global conversations going on today throughout the world-- philanthropy, technology, social issues, health and medical innovations, education and more. The presentations will be dynamic and interesting and many will incorporate the use of multimedia.

The daylong conference will include breakfast and lunch, as well as periodic breaks, which will allow for networking with the presenters, as well as amongst the registered guests, providing for a conducive environment for conversations to take place off stage, as well as on stage.

The Diros Neolithic Studies Institute In Greece presents:

Testimonial Dinner for the benefit of The New Museum Building Fund

in honor of the world renowed Archaeologist George Papathanasopoulos

(featuring the musical sounds of Nicos Nicolaides Orchestra "The Cosmopolitans")

Hosted by Mr. & Mrs. Michael Halkias of the Grand Prospect Hall

Under the auspices of The World Council of Hellenes Abroad (USA Region)

With the whole-hearted support of The Greek-American Community Organizations of New York

The goal is to raise funds privately for the Diros Neolithic Studies Institute in Mani, Greece.  The Diros Institute is imminently threatened by the non-payment of its rents, while the museum itself was shut down and the archaeological excavations at the Alepotrypa Cave have seized its operations, remaining under the continuous surveillance of security guards.  The cause of the problem is the adverse economical situation the Greek Government has found itself in, which resulted in eliminating some or all funding for many archaeological sites.
